CFA - Chicks Fire Academy
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Chicks Fire Academy stores lesson progress, quiz scores, stars, language choice and cached lessons on your device. Completed lesson session fields may wait in a local retry queue until delivery. The app creates a random installation identifier and secret when it first sends a completed lesson to the service; the secret is kept in iOS Keychain. The service stores the installation identifier, a digest of the secret, creation time, and session events containing a random event identifier, topic identifier, numbers of correct and total answers, duration and time. The app does not ask for a name, account, email address or location. Railway, our hosting provider, receives network requests and may process connection metadata and infrastructure logs when the app contacts the service or a visitor opens this website.
How we use information
The app uses local progress to show completed lessons, stars and the next lesson. It downloads lesson versions and content to keep the offline library current. The service uses session records to understand aggregate lesson completion and to process an installation's deletion request. The installation secret authorizes access to that installation's server data.
Service providers and sharing
The service is hosted by Railway, which processes service traffic, storage and infrastructure logs for hosting. No advertising, social sign-in, email delivery or third-party analytics SDK is included. We do not sell or intentionally share children's lesson progress with advertisers.
Data retention
Local progress and cached lessons remain on the device until you clear app data, remove the app or iOS removes its data. A pending session event remains in a local retry queue until delivery or data clearing. Server installation and session rows remain until you request deletion or the service operator removes them; the software has no scheduled expiry. We do not control or promise a specific retention or purge period for Railway infrastructure logs or provider-managed backups. A server deletion removes active database rows for that installation; backup copies, if any, may persist under the hosting provider's own practices.
Deleting your information
In Settings, Clear all data removes local progress, queued session events and cached downloaded lessons and requests deletion of that installation's active server rows. If the device is offline, the app retains the installation secret only to retry the server deletion when it reconnects and shows a pending notice. Removing the app before an offline deletion retry may prevent that request. You may also contact Somerleigh3Rotherham@icloud.com for a privacy request. Without the installation secret, we may be unable to identify or recover an installation's records.
Permissions and your choices
The app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or notification permission. You can stop network processing by using the offline lessons without a connection, and you can remove local data in Settings. Device network access and local storage are needed for content updates and saved progress.
Your privacy rights
A parent or guardian can request information about data handling or ask for deletion by writing to Somerleigh3Rotherham@icloud.com. The in-app deletion control is the direct way to remove the installation's active server records while its secret is available. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location; contact us if you need help exercising them.
Security
Service requests use HTTPS. Each installation has a separate randomly generated secret; the service stores a digest rather than the secret and checks authorization before accepting session data or deleting records. The secret is stored in iOS Keychain. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
This learning app is intended for children ages 6–12 with parents or educators. It does not offer accounts, social features or direct messaging. It limits server lesson records to an installation identifier and the session fields described above. Parents or guardians can clear data in Settings or contact us about privacy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or service changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, in the app. Questions may be sent to Somerleigh3Rotherham@icloud.com.
